Using Shelf

Terms

This page describes Shelf's product rules, supported uses, and membership billing. Apple, Google, and other providers have their own terms for the services they provide.

Operator and contact

Sourceflow LLC operates Shelf. Contact [email protected] for support, privacy questions, or an account-deletion request.

Use content you can access

Shelf is a read-later app for supported public web pages and documents you provide. Use Shelf only with content you are authorized to access and save.

Shelf does not bypass publisher access controls, paywalls, social-login requirements, authentication, or document encryption. Unsupported content may remain link-only or may not be available for reading, import, or listening.

Accounts and your library

You can create a Shelf account with a password or with Apple or Google. The provider identity identifies the account; matching email addresses do not merge separate accounts. Keep access to the sign-in method you use for Shelf.

Shelf stores your saved links, supported extracted or shared text, imports, notes, highlights, and reading state in your account library. You can export supported library data, delete saved items, or request account deletion from the signed-in app.

Captures and imports

Shelf can accept supported public links, readable text shared from an iPhone, supported PDF and DRM-free EPUB files, newsletter messages sent to your account-owned Shelf address, and browser-visible URL, title, and text from the paired Chrome extension. Shelf keeps the original link with a saved item when one is available.

The Chrome extension sends a page only after you pair it with the exact Shelf server URL from Settings. A retryable transfer failure keeps the captured page locally in the extension so you can retry. An expired or revoked pairing clears its matching local credential and pending save. A successful save removes that pending copy from the browser.

Membership and billing

When Premium is offered, an eligible new subscriber receives a 14-day free trial. After the trial, Premium auto-renews at $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year in the United States. Apple displays the applicable regional price in other storefronts.

Apple determines trial eligibility under its subscription-group rules, so a trial is not promised to every customer. Apple manages billing, renewal, and cancellation. Restored legacy entitlements and earned term-bound referral access remain respected.

Account access, library export, and account deletion remain available without an active subscription. After a trial, reading, listening, full-text saving, import, capture, and newsletter features require active membership or another eligible entitlement.

Listening and other services

Remote speech is optional. When you give consent and a listening service is configured, Shelf sends requested article text through its authenticated service for speech generation and can cache returned audio on your device. You can withdraw consent in Settings to stop new synthesis. Cached audio can still play.

Shelf uses Convex for account and library services, Apple and Google for selected sign-in methods, Apple App Store and Adapty for configured membership flows, and Cloudflare Email Routing and a Shelf Email Worker for configured newsletter delivery. Each provider's own terms and policies apply to the service it provides.

Availability and account deletion

Features depend on the supported input, your account, membership or other entitlement, and the configured services. Shelf does not promise that every page, document, provider, voice, or feature will be available in every situation.

You can delete your account from the signed-in app. Shelf describes account-scoped deletion and records that remain in its Privacy notice. Contact [email protected] if you cannot access the app.
